19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his first championship for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult period, managing just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Now working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's first championship following the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface from spring of 2023.
The win also signifies he has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is really nice," said tennis professional the champion.
"This championship is in honour of my child her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his previous six finals, featuring in that event previously this season.
His counter-punching strategy and recurring reactions on court had led commentators to doubt if his ability to compete at the elite level was concluded.
But the athlete has made changes in the past month, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, backed up by an improved service.
The champion fought back from a break down in the first set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped break points in the following set before the challenger, striving for his initial tour title, seized the initiative to force a final set.
He rescued four early break points in a tight final set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he secured the title with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
