Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty cars have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.
The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.
Law enforcement then located many other vandalized cars and house walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state initial examinations suggest the fluid was most likely human blood.
"There is still no clue as to where it came from; investigators are not yet cognizant of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they commented.
City officials announced they were working "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the residents for information.
A senior representative stated the incident rendered him stunned and required to be solved promptly.
"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right attack five years ago," he posted on a platform, recalling the murder of nine victims by a assailant focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
